Neurofeedback center opens in Norwich
NORWICH – A new medical practice in the Eaton Center has opened its doors, providing local residents with rare neurotherapy services to treat various forms of brain dysfunctions.
With previously established offices in Binghamton, Delhi and Oneonta, Mind Matters Neurofeedback Centers opened in its newest location in the heart of Norwich only two months ago. In that time, many locals have jumped at the opportunity to restore their brain's ability to function.
“Part of our goal is to get information out to the community that there are other alternatives to medication,” explained Dr. Adriana Steffens, certified Psychophysiologist for Mind Matters Neurofeedback Centers. Dr. Steffens is one of only 700 board certified neurofeedback providers in the Unites States.
Steffens explained that neurofeedback is a natural, self-regulating technique that restores the brains's ability to function. Through neurotherapy, the brain is observed in action and brainwaves are then compared to a normative database to determine which areas of the brain are not working properly.
