NORWICH – For a fourth straight year, Gary and Merrie Beadle, owners of Beadle’s Lounge, 15 Lackawanna Ave., will host what’s become known as the couple’s annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, all proceeds benefitting the City of Norwich Youth Bureau. The yearly barbecue and mini-music festival has raised more than $6,000 to date, noted the Beadles, funds that Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason called vital to the organization’s various summer and winter activities.

“We’re hoping to do even better this year,” said Gary Beadle, who added this will be the couple’s last year overseeing the event (Gary and Merrie will be entering semi-retirement in the coming weeks). “We focus on doing everything we can for the kids and it’s a good feeling knowing we’ve done that over the years.”
