WINDSOR - At Thursday’s Section IV Class B Track and Field meet, Norwich juniors Matt Murray and Brooke Bonney extended their already dominant seasons with two victories apiece in inclement conditions at Windsor High School.
Murray remained unbeaten in the spring season in the 400- and 800-meter races. He cruised to a 51.57 time in the former event, and narrowly captured the latter timing 2:02.1, just a half-second better than teammate Nuri Harper, who was third.
Bonney set a personal-best winning the discus with a toss of 117-7, and she launched the shot put 37-2 1/4 to easily capture that event. Adding a fifth victory for the Tornado was sophomore Morgan Hagenbuch, who took the long jump with a leap of 16-4.

Seton Catholic Central 2, Bainbridge-Guilford 0
BINGHAMTON – Bainbridge-Guilford and senior pitcher Austin Bauerle took top-seeded Seton Catholic Central to the limit in Thursday's Section IV Class C matchup.
The Saints broke a scoreless tie scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth to escape with the home victory.
Tyler Krowiak reached on an error to start the Saints' sixth, and after a flyout, Neil McCormack doubled in Krowiak with the first run. Two batters later, Casey Kane bunted McCormack in with the insurance run.
B-G's best opportunity to score against Seton pitcher Michael Korchak came in the first. Lucas Butcher singled and was bunted to second base. Corbin Palmer singled to left field, but Butcher was held up at third base. Korchak then fanned the next two B-G batters to get out of the inning.
Korchak allowed just three hits in the win striking out 10 and walking one.
Bauerle, coming back on two days of rest, allowed just four hits striking out two and walking two. "To come back in two days and throw the way he did, (Austin) is just a warrior," said B-G coach Tim Mattingly.
The Bobcats finish with a 14-4 record.

A-P-W 5, Sherburne-Earlville 1
PARRISH – A-P-W pitcher Amber Rice took a perfect game into the seventh inning, and finished with a one-hitter in Thursday's Section III playoff victory over Sherburne-Earlville.
A-P-W scored all of its runs in the first three innings. Tori Stanton's two-run double in the first put the winners on the board, and Becky Trexler's RBI double highlighted a three-run third.
Rice's perfect game was broken up when the Marauders' Destinie Holmquist tripled. Holmquist then scored on Lexi Paul's sacrifice fly. "(Rice) didn't have a lot of movement on her pitches, but she kept us off balance, and we couldn't find the holes in their defense," said S-E coach Scott Fitzpatrick, who returns seven key players next season. "We're on the right track, and we hope to be a force next year."
S-E finishes with a 7-10 mark.
