Two aces recorded at Bluestone
OXFORD – The eighth hole at Bluestone Golf Course gobbled up two holes-in-one this past week.
Playing in the Thursday seniors outing, Charlie Townsend, who has multiple aces in his career, notched his first hole-in-one in 20 years. Playing the 140-yard front tees on eight, Townsend used a five-wood for his perfect shot, a smooth one on his foursome’s scorecard. Witnessing the feat were Dave “Crockett” Seaman, Charlie Neadom, and Charlie Colton. The quartet also fired the low round of the day finishing with a 10-under-par 60.
Three days later, Sam Partridge matched Townsend’s accomplishment in the annual “One-Club” outing. Partridge selected a 7-iron as his lone club, and it proved the perfect choice as drained his shot from the 180-yard tee box on eight. Playing with Partridge were Dan Burke, Wylie Burke, Larry Russia, and two other family members whose names were not available.
