Chenango County Grand Jury indicts ten

NORWICH – The Chenango County grand jury handed up a number of criminal indictments on Wednesday. At a grand jury proceeding, the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office presents evidence against those they wish to prosecute. It is up to the jury to decide if there is enough reasonable cause to charge a person with a felony offense.

Those indicted by the grand jury are arraigned before the county or Supreme Court judge at a later date.

The grand jury indicted ten individuals:

• Scott G. Frost, 28, Binghamton, indicted for first degree robbery, a class B felony; third degree robbery, a class D felony; fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon; and petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors.

Allegedly Frost, in concert with another, “threatened the immediate use of a dangerous instrument,” by reputedly holding a folding knife to the back of an Extra Mart Convenience Store clerk while requesting she empty the contents of the cash register. Frost and his accomplice allegedly left the Extra Mart with $283, 18 packs of cigarettes and seven Win for Life lottery tickets.

• Arianna M. Michalski, 22, Binghamton, indicted for first degree robbery, a class B felony; third degree robbery, a class D felony; and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
