BODY DISCOVERED SOUTH OF CITY

NORWICH – There are unconfirmed reports of a human body discovered north of Wal-Mart and south of the city’s Waste Water Treatment Plant in the Town of Norwich Wednesday mid-morning. And while Norwich City Police Chief Joe Angelino could not confirm if that were indeed the case, he did state that authorities were focusing on a specific area of the flood waters south of the city limits.

Special units of the NYS Police are en route to the scene, and a search has been underway for a missing Norwich woman since June 28.

Krista M. Kosowsky, 51, was first reported missing by her husband, Gary D. Kosowsky, at approximately 8 p.m. June 28 after she had failed to report to work earlier that day. According to authorities, her car was located near Wal-Mart’s Garden Center at approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Norwich Police and New York State Police responded to the scene and confirmed that the car was indeed the missing Kosowsky’s 2007 gold colored Pontiac Grand Prix, bearing license plate FCX-3112. Police immediately began combing the surrounding area and adjacent properties for any sign or indication of the missing woman.
