Gabriella’s Manor: A culinary delight
GREENE – Gabriella’s Manor bore witness to an extravagant Mionetto Prosecco and Mionetto Cocktail Reception yesterday afternoon, attended by approximately 420 people. Many of the attendees were loyal patrons of manor’s new owner Frank Lo Piccolo, who along with his family run a successful restaurant in Maine, NY. Others hailed from Chenango County. Gabriella’s Manor, named after Lo Piccolo’s youngest daughter, has taken the place of the famous Baron’s Inn on Route 12. After months of renovations, going as far as replacing the sheet rock in some rooms, the manor hosted its first event two weekends ago as a Greene couple renewed their vows.
“A lot of the patrons from my restaurant in the Tri-Cities and many nice people from Greene came,” said Lo Piccolo of Sunday’s gala, which ran from 2 to 6 p.m. and featured music from the Brotherhood Band. The orignal owners of the inn, who opened it some 40 years ago, also stopped by yesterday. “It was kind of like the past and the future coming together, the inn has come full circle back to where it was when it first opened.”
Lo Piccolo intends for the manor to develop into a nice venue for the area akin to the original Baron’s Inn.
“I think the food is very important, not just the party, to me as a chef it’s about good food and being pampered.”
Gabriella’s Manor boasts and an extravagant array of catering options. All of the manor’s employees were hired locally. Along with Lo Piccolo, Matt Skinner, a graduate of Le Cordon Blue in Florida and originally from the Binghamton area, will be taking care of the cooking. Lo Piccolo’s youngest daughter and the manor’s namesake is currently attending the Culinary Institute of America, learning how to become a pastry chef. When she graduates, it is Lo Piccolo’s intention to have her work as a full-time pastry chef at the manor, and he will possibly look into opening up a restaurant at the event center.
“We are really excited about being in Chenango County and remodeling the inn into a wonderful event center,” said Lo Piccolo.
Described as a banquet hall and catering facility which employs a professional wedding planner, Gabriella’s Manor is currently specializing in catering and events, including weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, retirement parties, reunions, as well as corporate events, and will cater events in Greene and Chenango County along with Ithaca and Binghamton.
Gabriella’s Manor is located south of the Village of Greene at 1244 state Highway 12. For more information or to book an event, call 744-1006, or visit gabriellasmanor.com or facebook.com/GabriellasManor.
