Plymouth man arrested after deer beheading

PLYMOUTH - One Plymouth man is facing several charges after authorities say he trespassed on another person’s property and illegally decapitated a deer.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department, on or about Oct. 26, 34-year-old David Button Jr. was spotted on a trail camera trespassing and possessing a rifle on a posted property off Bates-Wilson Road on the Town of Plymouth. Deputies allege that Button shot a deer, removed the head and left the body behind.

Both Button and the head of the deer were later located at Button’s residence, along with the rifle. Police also determined that Button was a convicted felon and as such, was not legally permitted keep firearms in his possession.
