Guilford man arrested for sex offense
GUILFORD – The New York State Police in Sidney arrested Mark Crawford, 46, 354 Ives Settlement Rd., Guilford, for the class C felony of criminal sexual act in the second degree and the class A misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.
Crawford was arrested following an investigation conducted by the New York State Police and Chenango County Child Protective Services. It is alleged that Crawford had sexual contact with a child less than eleven years old.
He was arraigned in the Town of Guilford Court and remanded to Chenango County Correctional Facility. A $20,000 cash bail was placed on him.

Plymouth fireman allegedly stole more than $10K from fire department
PLYMOUTH – The New York State Police arrested Andrew B. Cushman, 25, Plymouth, on Nov. 12 in Norwich for the class D felony of grand larceny in the third degree. The arrest followed the New York State Police’s response to a report that funds had been stolen from the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department.
It is alleged that Cushman – who is a member of and treasurer for the fire department – stole over $10,000 from the fire department’s bank accounts. He was arraigned at the Town of Plymouth Court and released without bail required.

Two arrested for stealing train tracks
NORTH NORWICH – Authorities have arrested two men in the Town of North Norwich for allegedly stealing portions of defunct the train tracks that run through the township.
According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, on or about Aug. 28, 22-year-old Paul Presnell and 22-year-old Cody Gay, both of North Norwich, used torches to cut sections of the railroad tracks owned by New York Susquehanna and Western Railways. The two men then sold the tracks for scrap worth more than $1,000.
Gay and Presnell are facing charges of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony; grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; and criminal trespass in the third degree, a B misdemeanor. They will appear in court at a later date.
