Norwich officer completes Instructor Development course

DELHI – Nine-year Norwich City Police Department veteran Timothy Annesi has successfully completed the Police Instructor Development Course held in Sanford Hall at SUNY Delhi.

According to Delhi Police Captain James H. Smalls, the course is 64 hours in length and certifies officers to be New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services General Topics Police Instructors. Annesi will now be able to instruct at police academys as well as in in-service training courses.

“Training is very important,” said Norwich City Police Chief Joseph Angelino. “For all the officers here, any training pays dividends to the community.”

Angelino added this particular course was a public speaking training course. NPD officers who are certified are available for speaking engagements on various topics for the public.
