Area residents report wave of burglaries
CHENANGO COUNTY – Various residential burglaries have been reported throughout the county and according to authorities, the four reported are still under investigation and arrests have not been made.
According to Lieutenant Richard Cobb with the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, two burglaries were reported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and are being investigated by the agency.
One of the reported burglaries took place on Aurora Heights in the Town of Norwich and was reported “sometime Friday (Jan. 31) afternoon or evening,” Cobb said.
The second residential burglary was was called in from Reservoir Hill Road in the Plymouth area, but Cobb was not able to verify the time frame.
Two additional residential burglaries were reported and are under investigation with the New York State Police.
Said Trooper Nathan Riegal, “We are investigating burglaries into two different residences.”
One of the invasions was to a residence on Lyon Brook Road in the Town of Norwich, and was reported to the State Police on Jan 31 at 11:08 p.m. According to Riegal, it was determined someone might have gotten into the home but the property owners were unsure what was taken.
