Opera House celebrates 100 years of Mother's Day
EARLVILLE – Mark your calendars now. This is the 100th year since President Woodrow Wilson made Mother's Day an official holiday in the United States.
For this centennial anniversary, the Earlville Opera House (EOH) and the Oneida Community Mansion House (OCMH) will collaborate on two distinct and very special exhibits to celebrate Mother's Day throughout Central New York.
The EOH exhibit will present photographs of the special women from the past who were the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers of the families of Central New York, accompanied by a brief narrative describing the person and what made her so special. You are invited to submit photographs of the women of your family. Submission details can be found at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com, or call 315-691-3550. The submission deadline is April 18.
