Grand jury hands up indictments

NORWICH – The grand jury convened last week and a number of individuals were indicted for various felony offenses, including driving while intoxicated, forgery and manslaughter.

• Max F. Welch Jr., 55, Afton, was indicted on the class E felony of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree; operating a motor vehicle while having .08 of one percent of alcohol in his blood, a class A misdemeanor; and driving while intoxicated.

It is alleged that on or about Feb. 3, 2014 in the Village of Afton, Welch did operate a vehicle on Caswell Street while under the influence of alcohol and while knowing or having reason to know his license to operate a motor vehicle in New York had been revoked or suspended.

• Jeanette E. Milbert, 18, Smyrna, was indicted on one count of criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony; and one count of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony.

Allegedly, on or about Dec. 21, 2013, in the Town of Smyrna, Milbert, acting in concert with others, intentionally damaged the property of another individual. The approximate total of damages exceed $52,000.

• Dyrek M. Wingate, 25, Guilford, was indicted on criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony; and one count of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony.

Allegedly, on or about Dec. 21, 2013, in the Town of Smyrna, Wingate, acting in concert with others, intentionally damaged the property of another individual. The approximate total of damages exceed $52,000.
