GREENE – Greene Police Chief Steven J. Dutcher, 43, was arrested on Thursday, April 24, 2014, by New York State Police and is facing a charge of petit larceny, according to NYS Police Trooper Nathan Riegal.

Riegal confirmed that Dutcher was arrested, arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

With regard to the charge, Riegal said it is alleged that Dutcher stole “Village of Greene property,” but he did not know further details of the charge.

“Basically, the value of said property could have been from one penny to $999,” said Riegal.
