2014 Liberty Bell Award

NORWICH – On Friday, May 9 Robert Mason, III was awarded the 2014 Liberty Bell Award. From left to right: son-in-law Christoper Conway holding his son, Chase Conway; Mike Ferrarese; Robert Mason; his wife Peggy Mason; and their daughter Kimberly Conway. Ferrarese, President of the Chenango County Bar Association, presented the award to Mason, which served as the culmination of the 2014 Law Day Celebration. The award “recognizes outstanding service performed by a non-lawyer citizen who has given of his or her time and energy to strengthen the effectiveness of the American system of freedom under law.” Mason joined the City of Norwich Police Department in 1976, and ended his career there as Police Chief. He continues to serve as Youth Bureau Director for the City of Norwich, and has a history of a number of community service positions. Also presented were the 2014 Mock Trial Winning Team Members from S-E; the Chenango County Bar Association Scholarship; the 2014 Mock Trial Team Trophy; and History of the Liberty Bell Award. Presiding judges who attended were Hon. Elizabeth A. Garry, Supreme Court Appellate Division; Hon. Frank B. Revoir, Jr., County Court Judge; and Hon. W. Howard Sullivan, Retired County Court Judge.
