NEW BERLIN – Local grassroots organization “Friends of NBAS” will be hosting a chicken barbecue in conjunction with the Village of New Berlin's Yard Sale Day.

Organizers of the barbecue regularly host various benefits and fundraisers to aid the New Berlin Ambulance Service (NBAS) in its mission to provide the community with reliable, prompt and effective emergency response, 24/7.

Proceeds collected from the event will be utilized by the ambulance service to assist in defraying operating expenses and equipment expenditures, according to New Berlin Ambulance Service Chief Ken Wiggins.

“The NBAS is very thankful for the hard work and volunteerism by the members of the organization,” said Wiggins.

Wiggins went on to elaborate that nearly $8,000 has been raised in the two years since the Friends of NBAS has been established, money that goes directly into the village's sole ambulance service, which has a substantial impact on the fiscal priorities.
