Artists present work at Golden Foundation studios

NEW BERLIN – The Golden Foundation opened its studios on Tuesday so locals could meet the three resident artists who have made the Golden Residency Foundation Barn their temporary home. While the artists come from various locales and are very different in their art, they connected during the experimentation process.

“There are lots of shared sensibilities with the way we work with the materials,” said artist Cora Cluett who comes from Ontario, Canada.

James Kennedy, an artist who resides in New York, said about the program, “It’s kind of like a home away from home. You don’t feel an upheaval in the process.”

Sarupa Sidaarth is an artist from Wisconsin and has greatly enjoyed working with the other artists.

“We share a great sense of comradery,” she said.

Visitors were able to speak with the artists, snack on cheese and wine and learn about the artistic process. The artwork varied in size, make-up, subject and medium(s).

While Sidaarth's first love has always been oils, the Golden Residency has been an opportunity to experiment with acrylics.
