Eight schools, including Norwich will compete at the meet.
Set to compete are Norwich, Waverly, Maine Endwell, Oneonta, Johnson City, Susquehanna Valley, Owego and Windsor.
“This is going to be a great competition,” said Norwich varsity track and field head coach Shaun Horan.
“The kids are really trying to win thier event,’ he said.
Horan believes that the Purple Tornado is “competitive in every event.”
Southern Tier Athletic Conference champions, Brooke Bonney and Matt Murray have already qualified for the state qualifiers.
Bonney set a school record in discus with a throw of 128'-10".
Matt Murray has qualifying times in the 400m Dash, the 800m Dash and the mile.
“He can go for any event he wants to for state qualifiers,” Horan said.
The girls 4x1 relay team has qualified as well and is hoping to reach the second qualifier time of 50.5. If they accomplish this, they would only need finish second in the Section IV Class B Championship to make states.
Caroline Stewart has qualified in the triple jump.
Three Norwich girls have qualified in the long jump.
Sydney Chaffee qualified in the 200m and 400m dash.
Adrian Moses made the cut in long jump, David Bernstein in discus and Morgan Hagenbuch in hurdles.
“Now is the time to hit season best times, jumps and throws,” Horan said.
