SHERBURNE – A house in Sherburne was destroyed by fire Monday evening, according to Sherburne Assistant Fire Chief Jansen Casscles.

The house was located on Furman Mills Road in Sherburne. A neighbor saw smoke in the sky and called in the fire at 5:18 p.m. The Sherburne Fire Department and EMS arrived on the scene with mutual aid from the North Norwich and Earlville fire departments. Casscles confirmed that no one was inside the house at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

“The fire was well involved when we got here,” Casscles said. “It took 20 minutes to get it under control.”
