Afton blanks Sidney 2, 10-0

AFTON – Afton pitchers Joe DeVona and Josh Rudock combined on a two-hit shutout in a 10-0 victory over Sidney 2 in Otsenango Pony League play last Thursday.
DaVona pitched four innings allowing two hits. He struck out seven and walked one. Rudock struck out the side in the fifth to finish off the victory.
Mitchell Mertz doubled and tripled driving in three runs, McGwire Tuttle was 2-for-2 with two runs, Rudock had two RBI, K.J. Ives scored twice, Tyler King had two runs scored, and Colin Nabinger was 2-for-3 with two runs.
Afton, 5-1 in league action, plays at Hancock today.
