Investigation into alleged knife attack leads to arrest
BAINBRIDGE – On Friday, a man from Unadilla was arrested for allegedly attacking a woman with a knife in a remote area just outside the Village of Bainbridge.
Damian M. Schlabsz, 19, was arrested by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Sidney for unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, a class E felony; and menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. The arrest occurred following an investigation into a 911 call that was placed on Sunday, July 6 that reported the alleged attack. Schlabsz was arraigned in the Town of Bainbridge Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. The NYS Police was not available for comment at press time.
