Talks underway to reconnect Syracuse TV station in Norwich
NORWICH – In the nearly two weeks since Time Warner disconnected Norwich residents from a Syracuse-based affiliate of NBC, talks are underway to return the service to cable subscribers.
According to Norwich Mayer Joseph Maiurano, an outpouring of discontent from local residents gave reason for him to talk with representatives of Time Warner Cable. Conversations revealed that there’s reason to be hopeful Norwich residents will see the WSTM-TV in their living room again in the near future, he said.
“It’s my understanding that there is a contract to provide that station through 2016,” Maiurano said.
But as of now, negotiations to restore the channel are in legal limbo. “I know there’s lot of frustration from people who pay to have this service, but I have the feeling that the channel will be back on the within the next couple weeks.”
