Former NCSD board member appointed for new school year

NORWICH – The Norwich City School District Board of Education has appointed former board member Tom Morrone to fill a vacancy for the 2014-2015 school year.

Morrone’s appointment follows the resignation of board member Luke Murphy, who himself had been appointed a board position in 2011. Murphy was elected to fill a full term on the board during a school district vote in 2012 and served as vice president of the board during the 2013-2014 school year.

Morrone will fill the remainder of Murphy’s three-year term before having to run for election in May, 2015.
