Cyclones capture home wins over Rome

NORWICH – The Norwich Cyclones B team stopped Rome 51-21 at Alumni Field Sunday.

The Norwich offense picked up huge real estate on the ground against the Colts with 11 backs toting the pigskin. Andrew Mullen had two TDs of 44 and 48 yards on four carries for 100 yards. Cameron Byrne scored on TD runs of 35 and eight yards on just three carries, Elijah Rodriguez had a 32-yard touchdown, and 103 yards rushing on eight carries.

Andrew Donahue had a one-yard TD run, and Seth Wessels scored a pair of TDs – a three-yard plunge and a brilliant 57-yard kickoff return to finish the Cyclones’ scoring.

Rodriguez kicked a two-point conversion and Tyler Rice added a point-after run.

On defense, Andrew Donahue had a big day, with Sebastien Pittsley, Tyler Jones, Ben McGillicuddy, James Jones, Cameron Marvin, Wessels, Ben Glanville, and Michael Squires leading the charge. Squires and Byrne both added interceptions.
