NORWICH – Unbeaten Norwich shook off a slow start to defeat Johnson City at home Thursday, 26-24, 25-18, 25-19.

Vanessa Salerno had her best game of the season posting 10 kills, three aces, and three stuff blocks. Cassie Birtch racked up 10 assists, and Meghan Komendarek put away a team-high 11 kills.

Norwich trailed for much of the first game until a timeout was called by head coach Shelly Alger. "After the timeout, we did a good job of turning the tide in the match," Alger said. "Vanessa held us in tonight; she played really well."

Norwich (3-0) is idle until Sept. 16 when it visits Windsor
