Cyclones sweep Cazenovia
NORWICH – The Norwich Cyclones “C” team downed Cazenovia 21-0 on Sunday at Alumni Field to remain undefeated.
The Cyclones scored on a one-yard TD in the first stanza by Mallachi Gaters, with Jaden Jenkins adding the point-after touchdown on a pass from Torin Lawrence. With 11 seconds left in the half, Dylan Bresee reached paydirt on a four-yard run for a 13-0 lead.
The Cyclones added a TD in the fourth on an 18-yard scamper by Griffin Mills, with Mills also kicking the two-point conversion.
Gaters, Timothy Duke, Damien Kane, and Mills led the defense, with Kyle Pounds, Blaine Orlando, Bryant Switzer playing big “D” also. Gaters, Orlando, and Kane all recovered Lakers fumbles, and Mason Edwards had a TD-saving tackle.
The Cyclones “B” team stopped the Lakers 27-7 to also remain undefeated. The Cyclones scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 45-yard TD run by Nick Glanville, with Carson Maynard passing to Ben McGillicuddy for the conversion.
