Greene 3, Delhi 0
GREENE – It only took 24 hours for Greene to avenge its first league loss in over two years.
Coming off a one-goal overtime defeat on Wednesday, the Trojans overcame lingering fatigue to record the shutout victory. “I told them before the game that I knew we were on tired legs, but to work within the system,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We played a pretty tactical game tonight in which we were trying to conserve energy, but also control the game at the same time. We had different guys step up, and we managed to get the job done.”
Luke Day scored five minutes into the game with an assist from Brady Race, and Kevin Halsteter’s tally later in the first half off a Ben Kinney feed made it a two-goal lead at the break. Karl Zaengle netted his ninth goal of the season in the second half to complete the scoring.
