Community impact of heroin epidemic targeted at Chenango Health Department’s round table
CHENANGO COUNTY – On September 25, the Chenango County Health Department hosted local leaders from across the community for a round-table discussion on the heroin drug epidemic in Chenango County.
The group included representatives from abuse treatment services, healthcare, social services, public health, local government, law enforcement, and the court system.
The group was presented with information regarding disease prevention and intervention strategies by Darlene Gramstad, Director of Patient Services for the County Health Department; and John Barry, Executive Director of the Southern Tier AIDS Program. Mr. Barry assisted the group in framing the current scope of the issue in Chenango County.
