LAURENS – Bainbridge-Guilford's perfect record through 10 games ended Thursday in a non-league defeat to Laurens.
Laurens, held without a shot in the first half, scored on two well-placed shots in the second half – the Leopards' only shots of the game. Jordan Shaul tied the game at 1-1 after an indirect kick, and Mason Weir scored the winner on a direct kick with 11:42 left.
B-G (10-1) took a 1-0 lead into halftime on Jake Cuozzo's tally. B-G hosts Norwich Saturday at 9 a.m.

Canastota 6, S-E 1
CANASTOTA – Canastota scored twice in the game's first five minutes, and had four goals by halftime in a win over visiting Sherburne-Earlville Thursday.
Steve Scaramuzino had two goals in the first half for the Raiders, who had just 12 shots for the game.
Kyle Cole scored his first varsity goal for S-E getting an assist from Tyler Rodriguez. Rodriguez nearly had three other goals, but his shots were turned away by Canastota keeper James Kimball.
"Where Canastota was deadly efficient, we were not, and that was the difference in the game tonight," said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez.

Girls' Tennis

Vestal 7, Norwich 0
VESTAL – For the second straight season, Vestal eliminated Norwich from the STAC playoffs taking all seven points Thursday afternoon.
Five of the 14 games at number one singles went to deuce games with Vestal's Shika Kumbhakar coming out on top in all of them in a straight sets victory over Makenzie Maynard. At second singles, the Golden Bears' Anika Kumbhakar won a deuce game with the first set tied at 4-4 on her way to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Caroline Stewart.
"Unfortunately, the match scores are not indicative of our quality of play," said Norwich coach John Stewart. "I'm certainly proud of the way we played, and we made (Vestal) hit better shots. They are a skilled team, and that showed up today."
Norwich is idle until the Class B team sectionals Thursday, Oct. 8.

NORWICH - Norwich earned its seventh victory of the season Thursday defeating Susquehanna Valley in three games, 25-8, 25-8, 25-13.
Caitlyn Brown had six aces and eight assists, and Meg Komendarek led the NHS hitters with 11 kills to go with two blocks.
Jessica Dye came off the bench for five assists, and Vanessa Salerno put away seven kills.
Norwich (7-3) visits Johnson City next Thursday.
