Benedict Corporation offers reward for tire slasher information

NORWICH – The Benedict new Subaru and used car dealeship in Norwich is reaching out for help in finding the person responsible for tire slashings on several new vehicles on its lot.

President of the Benedict Corporation Trip DeCordova said the act of vandalism happened during the hours of Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. “We found tires that were slashed on four new cars,” he said. “We have been in business in Norwich for 109 years, and I have lived in the community for 39 years. I always thought it was a safe place to be, so we’re shocked that we have to deal this kind of loss.”

DeCordova said the company is working closely with the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office in locating the tire slasher and is taking steps to heighten security at the dealership. He is also offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
