Federal loans available to help businesses cover weather related losses

CHENANGO COUNTY – Small businesses, including farms that saw financial losses as the result of two separate weather related disasters this year may now be eligible for financial help.

United States Representative Richard Hanna announced last week that the U. S. Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program is available to small businesses, small ag cooperatives, small businesses in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations in counties across New York’s 22nd Congressional District.

Under this program, loans will be made available to eligible entities in Chenango, Cortland and Tioga counties that suffered from a freeze that occurred from Feb. 1 through April 30, 2014.
