Renovations complete, grand re-opening planned at Mavis Tire-Cole Muffler
NORWICH – A familiar downtown face recently received a makeover and to celebrate the completion of renovations, the community is invited to stop in for its Grand Re-Opening Celebration.
A prominent fixture in the Norwich community since 1981, 47 Syracuse based Cole Muffler locations were recently acquired by Mavis Tire of Mount Kisco, NY which now boasts 155 locations throughout New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
While the business transaction took place in mid 2009, the Mavis company has been methodical in updating all existing locations and slowly integrating this market brand to consumers.
“Mavis Discount focuses primarily on tire service, but the company has carried over the exhaust, suspension and brake component from the Cole Muffler locations that they purchased,” said Tim Donnelly, Service Manager at the North Broad Street location.
According to Donnelly, this means no loss of services for existing customers. The newly badged company will continue to offer the same service customers have come to rely with an expanded tire inventory – which trickles down to big saving for customers, he added.
In purchasing the Cole Muffler business, Mavis acquired all of Cole's equipment, infrastructure and inventory. For those who have become accustomed to the Cole Muffler name, Mavis says that it will remain for the foreseeable future in addition to the Mavis company branding.
The company has spent the last month giving its old Norwich location a much needed facelift both outside and in. Customers can now enjoy a comfortable, inviting waiting area while they wait for repairs and service.
“We've received many compliments about the new modern look of the garage,” said Donnelly.
The business’s Grand Re-Opening Celebration is set for this upcoming Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tents will be put up in the front lot, and a family-style barbecue has been organized to entice local customers to stop in and survey renovations.
