Classic Casino Night supports local commerce, museum

NORWICH – One of the areas largest tourist attractions cordially invites community members willing to shuffle up and deal out to a full house of fun and games.
Home to more than 160 automobiles spanning the gamut of both form and function, The Northeast Classic Car Museum is gearing up for its Classic Casino Night.
“Our Annual Casino Night is one of our largest fundraisers of the year,” said Museum Executive Director Robert Jeffrey.
The much-anticipated event serves as an opportunity for locals to dress to the nines while raising much needed funding that aids in the continued operation of one of central New York's premiere Museums.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 5:30-9:30 p.m., and organizers urge that there are only a limited number of tickets still available for this annual event – which must be reserved prior to Saturday.
The Northeast Classic Car Museum located at 24 Rexford St. in the City of Norwich is a not for profit chartered by the New York State Department of Education. Proceeds from the event will support exhibits and programs throughout the coming year.
Fare for the evening's festivities include choice Hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner, dessert and drinks – all of which is carefully prepared and catered by the locally-owned Tuller’s Catering & Party Service.
Purchase of an admission ticket also lines the pockets of each guest with $30,000 worth of ‘classic cash’ – which is no chump change. The novelty cash can be used for gaming the likes of roulette, craps, poker, blackjack, and more.
Additionally, door prize drawings and raffles will be held throughout the evening, and at the end of gaming guests can use their ‘classic cash’ winnings to bid on a variety of items.
Raffle and auction prizes include gift certificates, getaways, wines and craft beers, jewelry, an original oil painting by Irad Ingraham, a Florida getaway, and much more.
“As a not for profit educational facility accommodating more than 10,000 unique visitors in Chenango County annually, our primary goal is fixed on supporting the local economy year-round,” said Jeffery.
The Facility's two yearly fundraisers – including The Mustang Raffle as well as Casino Night – are not only important to the operation of the museum, but also in sustaining out-of-the area foot traffic at other businesses.
Jeffery emphasized that day trippers to the museum typically spend their cash at other local establishments while in town. “These people are purchasing gas, eating at restaurants and shopping locally – and those dollars are usually from out of town.”
Dinner and gaming will take place in the Museum’s newly renovated NBT Bank Event Room, with the Grand Finale Auction to take place among the splendor of its Fabulous Franklin exhibit. Casino Night guests are also welcome to enjoy all of the exhibits at the Museum.
“We are very grateful to the local business community for their generous sponsorships and donations of prizes for this event – we have a record number of prizes and sponsors this year,” said Jeffery.
