‘Spooktacular Haunted Library’ in Oxford Sunday

OXFORD—Haunted houses, creepy corn mazes and ghastly attractions of all sizes are all signs of Halloween weekend in Chenango County. Ghouls and goblins are advised to be on point as the Oxford Memorial Library invites one and all to its annual Haunted House.

Now in its tenth year, organizers are pleased to announce that the spooky event—which boasts two separate age-appropriate attractions at different times—begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Village Library, located at 8 Fort Hill Park.

The Haunted House Halloween Party—for the youngsters— will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second floor Program Room of the library.

But fear not, the return of the Spooktacular Haunted Library for the older crowd returns this year from 6-9 p.m. – as the entire library transforms into a bone chilling fright-fest (and spoiler-alert: everyone goes home with a treat bag).

Originally conceived by Library Clerk Autumn Markowsky, the main attraction is a dark and startling labyrinth up winding stairs flooded with black lights and spiderwebs.
