Police: Norwich youth stole AK-47, pills, property

NORWICH – A Norwich youth was arrested Sunday following an investigation into a burglary at a residence where police say an AK-47 was stolen.

According to member of the Norwich Police Department, the 17-year-old male entered and remained unlawfully in a building and stole a number of items.

The youth was charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of stolen property, a class E felony; and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Police said the youth arrested is a co-defendant and another man was previously arrested.

The co-defendant, Jared S. Quackenbush, homeless, was charged with the class C felony of burglary in the second degree. He was arrested Nov. 18, 2014 following an investigation into a home break-in.
