Eight indicted by grand jury
NORWICH— The Chenango County Grand Jury indicted eight individuals for violence, theft and other drug and alcohol related crimes on Nov. 19.
• Anthone J. Fisher, 22, Norwich, was indicted on the charges of assault in the second degree, a class D felony; and assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged that on or about Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the Valley Ridge Center for Intensive Treatment located on County Road 46, Fisher did intentionally cause physical injury to a staff member at the treatment facility. Fisher allegedly threw a dangerous instrument – a wooden table – at the victim, striking her in the head and causing her a concussion.
• William Rochez, 20, Bronx, was indicted on the charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; and criminal impersonation in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on or about June 10 at 4:13 p.m. in Room 123 at the Howard Johnson Hotel located on 75 North Broad St. in the City of Norwich, Rochez – while acting in concert with another – did knowingly and unlawfully possess 15 individually wrapped plastic baggy corner wraps of the narcotic drug cocaine, which he intended to sell.
It is also alleged Rochez did knowingly and unlawfully allow individuals to gather in his hotel room for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sales of controlled substances. Rochez allegedly did benefit monetarily from the controlled substance transactions that took place.
