Day named D-3 all-American
ONEONTA – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday that SUNY Oneonta senior field hockey player, Andrea Day (Greene H.S./Greene), was named a second team Division III all-American. Day is earning national honors for the first time, as she caps a brilliant four-year career for the Red Dragons.
"I am so proud of the career that Andrea put together at Oneonta," said Oneonta field hockey coach Kelly Kingsbury. "She really has worked hard and put the time in to become the great player she was for her entire career. She has been a phenomenal four-year student-athlete at Oneonta, and I know she will do well in her future endeavors."
Day, who was a first team All-Region selection, becomes the ninth individual in the program's history to earn all-American honors. This fall she became only the third player from Oneonta to be selected as the SUNYAC Player of the Year. She was also named to the All-SUNYAC First Team for the second time of her collegiate career. In 2011, Day was a Second Team selection when she was the Rookie of the Year in the conference.
