Preferred Mutual hosts year’s first Business After Hours, presenting its new brand
NEW BERLIN – Preferred Mutual Insurance Company in New Berlin hosted this year’s first Commerce Chenango “Business After Hours” event, promoting the company’s new brand and website.
Business After Hours is Commerce Chenango’s monthly business networking event, where members gather at local businesses to share ideas and make professional contacts.
Preferred Mutual hosted Business After Hours on Wednesday evening to present its new brand including the company’s check mark logo, blue and grey colors and brand motto “Live Assured” to Commerce Chenango members, community business owners and local politicians. According to brand designers, policy holders can live their lives feeling assured that Preferred Mutual has them covered in case of an event where they need insurance.
The company’s New Berlin office had its carpeted cafeteria remodeled with brand colors, marketing images and logo banners, which Commerce Chenango President Steve Craig said was an “impressive commitment to detail.” The cafeteria was ornately decorated with blue, grey and silver for the event with several small tables for guests to snack on hor d'oeuvres made and served by the company’s cafeteria staff.
Guests were given raffle tickets to win door prizes, which included a FitBit for electronically tracking a person’s activities and health. There was also a goodie bag table with various types of blue and silver packaged candy and useful items, like window scrapers, inscribed with Preferred Mutual’s logo, which guests could put in a bag to take home.
The company had its new website – which it will soon be launching in line with its new brand – on display in a room with a photo booth where guests could wear “silly accessories” and get their picture taken to be posted on the company’s Facebook page.
Preferred Mutual’s Digital Media Specialist, Kelly Jensen, helped design the company’s new website and she said it will feature “Live Assured” marketing images, have a “modern and professional” design and be more user-friendly. Policy holders will have easier access to check their accounts and pay their bills online, agents will be able to utilize the new site to better serve their clients, and visitors to the site will have easy access to the company’s social media pages and press releases, said Jensen.
Preferred Mutual’s Senior Vice President of Operations in Customer Service, Brian Lopata, showed the company’s new commercial, which is up on Youtube, and spoke about the development of the new brand. Lopata said the heavy lifting in designing and marketing the company’s new brand was in 2014, but this year will be the real work of the company adapting to and living up to the brand.
Craig spoke at the event after Lopata and said Preferred Mutual has set the example of how to “do it right” when it comes to a company marketing its product to the public. Craig also said the small county is lucky to have larger businesses like Preferred Mutual and that he appreciates the company sharing its ideas with smaller local businesses.
Commerce Chenango will be hosting another Business After Hours event next month; the event information will be posted on the chamber’s website.
Preferred Mutual’s new website will be launched soon this year.
