Norwich 45, Greene 31
GREENE – Norwich finished off its final dual meet of the season with four consecutive wins to come from behind for its 16th win of the season Tuesday at Greene.
Eli Rodriguez (99), Nick Glanville (106), and Zach Mills (113) all picked up pins, and Dalen Geislinger (120) finished off with a decision to erase Greene’s 31-24 lead.
The Trojans had their first full lineup in recent matches, and had the early advantage when Ryan Castle (132), Nate Banks (138), and Tyler Dickman (145) earned wins, the latter two by pinfall.
“It was nice to end on a high, but if we had lost, we were okay with that,” said Norwich coach Terry Hagenbuch. “We wanted to keep guys healthy going into the class tournament, and we were able to do that.”
Norwich again spotted the opponent some points giving up two forfeits, but as it has all season, rallied for the win. Norwich compiled a 16-5 record, and all the losses came in a dual meet tournament format – none in league or non-league matches. “Every time out we’ve given up 12-18 points, so we expected a lot out of the guys to catch those points up,” Hagenbuch said. “Sixteen times, we did that.”
Norwich is one of nine teams competing in the Section IV Class B Tournament, Saturday at Oneonta High School.
