Create snow shelters with help from Friends of Rogers
SHERBURNE – Join Friends of Rogers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne to learn common, but important, snow shelter building techniques.
A good snow shelter can provide ample protection in the midst of a snowball barrage. Likewise, in an emergency, those same shelter design skills can help insulate you from the cold, and possibly even save your life.
“Snow is one of nature's best insulators,” said Sarah Freedman, Friends of Rogers environmental educator. “Knowing the proper way to construct a snow shelter can allow you to create a space that will remain 32 degrees inside, regardless of the temperature outside.”
