With more snow, city residents encouraged to practice safe snow removal
NORWICH – With relentless snow continuing to pile up – and even more forecasted through early Tuesday morning, Norwich city officials are extending reminders to residents about the importance of safe snow removal.
City residents are encouraged to keep their sidewalks clean and to clear snow away from fire hydrants, said City Codes Enforcement Officer Jason Lawrence. Lawrence said that as snow continues to fall, it’s a chance for neighbors to help neighbors.
Lawrence also stressed the importance for residents to make sure snow is not piling up around heating vents outside the home. Snow build-up around heating vents could cause dangerous carbon dioxide problems inside the home, he said.
