New York Farm Bureau advocates for immigration reform

ALBANY – The New York Farm Bureau is pushing immigration reform that it claims would have a favorable impact on the farming workforce.

The organization on Wednesday released its national priorities for 2015 with immigration reform topping the list. According to the NYFB, there must be a flexible guest-worker visa program in place that addresseds both seasonal and long-term needs of New York agriculture.

The NYFB says enforcement-only action without reform threatens the workforce that many farmers and ranchers depend heavily upon.
