CHENANGO COUNTY – County Chairman of the Board Lawrence Wilcox announced this week that police departments in the City of Norwich, Oxford, Greene, New Berlin and the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.

The statewide STOP-DWI crackdown efforts start on March 13 and will end on March 18. St. Patrick’s Day Weekend is historically a deadly period for impaired driving. New York State Police, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state will be out in force in this across the board effort to reduce the number of alcohol related injuries and deaths.
