Bail lowered from 200k to 50k at felony arraignment for alleged sex offender

NORWICH – A Bainbridge man was arraigned this week in Chenango County Court by Judge Frank B. Revoir, Jr. for allegedly raping a 12-year-old female relative.

32-year-old Christopher A. Jennings of West Main Street in Bainbridge was arrested and charged with sex crimes and unlawful possession of marijuana on March 16 by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault.

Jennings was initially arraigned in the Village of Bainbridge Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 cash bail.

On March 18, Jennings was indicted on the charges of rape in the first degree, a class B felony; criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class B felony; incest in the first degree, a class B felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

It is alleged on or about March 14 at a West Main Street residence in the Village of Bainbridge, Jennings did engage in manual sexual conduct, oral sexual conduct and sexual intercourse with a relative, a 12-year-old female victim.

On March 23, Jennings was arraigned in county court for the same charges he was indicted on.

Jennings pleaded not guilty on all counts.
