Headwaters program recruiting for 2015

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Place is currently accepting applications for its Headwaters Youth Conservation Corps (HYCC) program, which is slated to begin June 22, 2015.
The program provides participants with the opportunity to work on high-priority conservation projects throughout Chenango County and the surrounding area. Projects include wetland restoration work, woodlot management, trail construction and maintenance, and aquatic invasive species removal.
HYCC offers participants 300 Americorps Service hours and the opportunity to receive a $1,600 living allowance, a $1,195 education award, employment training, and lasting memories. The program will run throughout the summer and is available to young adults between 17 to 25 years of age.
This is a highly competitive program, with only five slots available. Those interested in applying should contact Marjorie Grap immediately for an application by calling 336-9696 x106.
