Woman accused of assaulting infant arraigned and released

NORWICH – After allegedly assaulting her boyfriend's 14-month-old son, a McDonough woman was arraigned by Judge Frank B. Revoir, Jr. in Chenango County Court and released to appear in court at a later date.

On her birthday, March 17, 2015, 22-year-old Lindsey L. McGehee was arrested by the New York State Police Troop C.

According to the superior court information, it is alleged McGehee intentionally caused physical injury to her boyfriend's 14-month-old son by pulling him while his leg was stuck between the slats of a crib, which caused the boy to receive a spiral fracture to his right femur.

She was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

On April 17, 2015, McGehee waived her right to be indicted by a grand jury and was arraigned for the class D felony of assault in the second degree and the class A misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child. She pleaded not guilty on both counts.

Her public defender, Lindon B. Summers, requested McGehee be released on her own recognizance since he said she will not be living at the residence where the victim lives and will have no contact with the victim or the victim's siblings.
