B-G piches second straight shutout

BAINBRIDGE – Austin Carr won his third game of the season combining with Zach Ouimet on a two-hit shutout of Unadilla Valley Monday.
It was the second straight shutout win for the Bobcats (5-3), who received a complete-game shutout win from Ouimet on Friday. "These are sophomores who are doing this (pitching), so the future looks pretty strong for this group," said B-G coach Tim Mattingly.
Ouimet and Dylan Moffitt had RBIs in the third and fourth innings, and B-G scored an unearned run in the sixth following UV's lone error of the game.
Dakota Fernette had both UV hits in the loss.

Little Falls 13, Sherburne-Earlville 0
SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville fell to 0-4 on the season as Little Falls hurler Jon Willman fanned 11 in a two-hit shutout of the Marauders.
Mike Luppino, Jason Galtt, and Willman all had two hits for Little Falls, who finished with 16 basehits in the game. "They had a lot of balls just drop in," said S-E coach Jay Tackabury. "They found the spots, and we had zero answers for it."
S-E plays Clinton today.

Sidney 13, Oxford 1
SIDNEY – Sidney broke open its game with Oxford Monday in the fifth inning plating eight runs in a runaway victory over the Blackhawks.
Alex Hoskins tripled in a 2-for-3 day at the plate driving in three runs to lead the Warriors. Anthony Ruling had two RBI, and Brandon Bessett scored three runs and stole two bases.
"The Hoskins kid pitched really well, was throwing strikes from the get-go, and really did a nice job," said Oxford coach Chris Palmer "He was in control the whole way, and they obviously hit the ball well."
Oxford's Kyle Crawford was 3-for-3 with an RBI. The Blackhawks host Unadilla Valley today.

NORWICH – Defending Section IV Class B champion Susquehanna Valley received six innings of shutout pitching from David Matthews in Monday's victory over the Purple Tornado.
Austin Haskell and Austin Whited had 2-for-3 days to lead SV. Cody Pritchard contributed a two-run single to highlight SV's three-run second.
"I think they are a very sound team, and everything they put a bat on was hit hard," said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. "We left 11 runners on base; we just couldn't get that clutch hit."
Norwich is at Windsor today.

MUNNSVILLE – Stockbridge Valley's Mike Staudt had five total hits to lead his club to a doubleheader sweep of Otselic Valley Monday.
Staudt homered and drove in three runs in the opening win, a 15-6 victory, while Tyler Dager was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Jonathon Liuzzo homered for the Vikings in the loss.
In the second game, Staudt was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, and Chris Eastman doubled twice driving in a pair of runs in the Indians' victory.
Liuzzo was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and Titus Reichard had three RBI for OV in the loss.
