New president appointed at Morrisville State College, Dr. David Rogers to take the helm in June

MORRISVILLE — Dr. David E. Rogers, of Nelson, will become the eighth president of Morrisville State College.

Dr. Rogers was appointed Wednesday by The State University of New York Board of Trustees. His appointment is effective on or about June 1, 2015.

“Throughout a 16-year career at SUNY Morrisville, David Rogers has earned the respect of the campus community and helped make the college a top destination not only for prospective students but for talented faculty and researchers as well as businesses seeking partnership with higher education,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “I have every confidence that, as president, Dr. Rogers will continue to provide the SUNY Morrisville campus with impeccable leadership.”

“I am personally delighted,” said chair of the Morrisville State College Council, Dr. Kristi Andersen. “Dr. Rogers’ colleagues appreciate his hard work, his integrity and his deep, deep commitment to Morrisville and its mission, as I do, and I look forward to working with him.”

As president of Morrisville State College, Dr. Rogers will oversee programs, faculty and staff at the Morrisville and Norwich campuses.

“The years ahead, I’m confident, will be ones of growth and expansion for the college,” Dr. Rogers said during his remarks to the SUNY Board of Trustees.

“The college was established 100 years ago with a specialized mission, and even though our programs and outreach have expanded dramatically, we’ve never varied far from our mission of experiential learning,” he said.
