GREENE – Greene captured the opening game of its tournament beating Oxford Friday before falling to Dryden in the championship game Saturday afternoon.
Dryden led by a 9-0 count after four innings only to see that margin erased. Greene's seven-run fourth and three-run sixth helped knot the game at 10-10.
"We had made five of our errors in the first four innings, and seemed like every time they hit the ball, it hit an open area," said Greene coach Rick Smith of the early part of the game."
Dryden unlocked the tie with three runs in the seventh as Jordan Robinson connected on a go-ahead two-run triple, then scored an insurance run on a single.
Sydney Bennett had a two-run single in Greene's fourth, while J.B. Taft, Brittany Johns, and Laura Durdon contributed RBI hits.
Alyssa Sands finished with three hits.
The Trojans opened their game against Oxford with seven straight singles, and that preceded Maddie Brink's two-run double. In the sixth, Brink started the frame with a double, and scored on Lydia Howard's two-run homer. Later in the inning, Brink came to the plate a second time, and drove in two with a single.
Howard was 5-for-6 with five RBI, Sands had three hits and four RBI, Johns drove in three runs, and Brink scored five runs to go with her ribbies.

Barker, Irwin, and Beaver all had two hits for the Marauders.

SHERBURNE – Canastota scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the win over winless Sherburne-Earlville Saturday.
Raiders pitcher Jake Purdy helped his own cause doubling with two outs, and he scored on John Sadowski's single. An S-E error – its only one of the game – scored Sadowski with the winner.
Purdy went the distance for the victory striking out 15 Marauders.
"We played hard and we played good defense, but the bats were not there," said S-E coach Jay Tackabury. "You're not going to win many games striking out 15 times."
Brady Elderkin was 3-for-3 to lead S-E and Ian Fleming drove in a run in S-E's three-run fifth.
Friday, state-ranked Holland Patent improved its record to 12-1 on the season beating the Marauders for the second time this season.
Devin Franco was 4-for-5 with three RBI, and Jordon Brown had three hits and two RBI.
Holland Patent also benefited from S-E's poor defense, who charted nine errors. "Holland Patent is definitely one of the best teams in the league, but our defense also let us down," Tackabury said.
Elderkin had two hits for the Marauders.

Chris Trevisani finished with two of Norwich's four hits. "I'm disappointed because I thought we would play better," said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. "We just struggled in the middle innings."
At Norwich Friday, Owego pulled away with five runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Tornado for the second time this season.
The Indians had five hits in the fifth, the big blow a two-run single from Mo Bell. Bell went 3-for-5 with two RBI, and Zach Zielinski had two hits and two RBI.
Owego pitcher Ben Schmidt relied on his defense to pick up the win. Schmidt had three strikeouts, allowed just two hits, and induced nine flyball outs. "We didn't necessarily hit it right at them, we just hit a lot of lazy flyball outs," Turnbull said. "We're not making solid contact."
