GUILFORD – Guilford resident Beverley Gridley was pleasantly surprised to hear her name called by Guilford Historical Society President Scott Parsons, as she was awarded 'Citizen of the Year 2015' by her peers.

The announcement was followed by certificates from the New York State Assembly and the Guilford Historical Society, presented by guest speaker the Honorable Chenango County Judge Frank Revoir during the Guilford Memorial Day celebration.

It didn't take Gridley long to become invested in Guilford after marrying Hobie Gridley 1957 and moving into the area. The couple relocated to the hamlet in 1967.
